New Zealand PM Announces Free Period Products for All Female Students - News

New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern is making free menstrual products available to all female students across the country for the next three years.

The 'free period product' program is designed to reduce “period poverty,”in New Zealand amongst school girls who lack access to menstrual pads or tampons. She made the announcement on Thursday.

The roll out will begin in June after a successful pilot program involving 3,200 students across schools in the country.
The program is expected to cost $17.96 million (US Dollars).
